It's Memorial Day Weekend

I have to admit that I greatly resent government control, general policing, overall injustices, and bureaucratic red tape.

But I do respect those who have sacrificed their lives so that we could have a better life in our country and our world.

Thank you for your sacrifice.

In honor of those that have given their lives to protect our freedom, I've put up some Fresh Tunes.

Friday, June 2nd Pow Wow

This week Alitta and I are going to Oxnard on Friday to Redbird’s 21st Children of Many Colors Intertribal Pow Wow 2023 for their evening flute circle.

It starts around 6pm until about 8 or 9pm so we're going to stay and go to the pow wow on Saturday.

Feel free to join us and say hi.

It's taking place at the Oxnard College and they're scheduled to have cultural songs, dancing, drumming, as well as arts, crafts and food.

You can read more about it here. If you've never been to a pow wow, it's fun. Mind your elders and respect cultural rules, but everyone seems to have a great time and come away uplifted.

Native American Style Flutes

I'm really excited to go to the flute circle because I've fallen in love with the Native American Flute. Alitta says I just jumped right in as I spend all day listening to the greats talk and play.

You can hear me in my first couple weeks on the Fresh Tunes tracks, but there's much more to come!

I even got Alitta to play a little bit

Truly, the Native American flute is so medicinal that you don't have to be a musical person to pick it up and play. Just sit by a pond, at the beach or in woods, and listen to nature, then play as a meditation.
